CRICK LATESHOP UNDERGOES £658,000 RE-FIT
Work is underway on an ambitious project to renovate the Heart of England Co-operative Society’s Lateshop in Crick.
The £658,000 project is scheduled for completion by early March.
The store is the third of the Society’s Foodcentres and Lateshops – after Earlsdon and Southam - to undergo a refurbishment under the new Co-operative brand.
Once complete both staff and customers will benefit from an enriched, greener shopping experience in a store which fits well in the Crick environment.
As part of the Society’s ongoing efforts to reduce its environmental impact the new-look store will be fitted with energy efficient lighting and refrigeration. There will be greater retail space, allowing for wider aisles and the capacity to stock more lines, particularly fresh foods, dairy products and chilled wine.
Peter Fletcher, General Manager of the Society’s Food Division, said: “This is the first time in a number of years our Crick store has been revamped.
“As the largest independent retailer in the region we are fully aware of our environmental responsibilities and to this end the store will be fitted with energy efficient lighting and refrigeration, built locally to reduce transportation and to support local industry.
“Once the work is complete our shoppers will benefit from a high quality, vibrant store which the local community can be proud of and which will cater for all our customers’ shopping needs.“
