HEART OF ENGLAND CO-OPERATIVE SOCIETY APPOINTS NEW ACCOUNTANT / ASSISTANT SECRETARY
The Heart of England Co-operative Society has appointed Ian Bain as Accountant / Assistant Secretary.
He replaces Roger Stain who has been promoted to the position of Financial Controller and Secretary of the Society.
In his new role Ian will oversee a team of more than 40 people in the Society’s Accounts Department and in its Post Offices.
Before joining the Society, Ian was the UK Head of Finance at an Irish firm Manvik. Prior to this, he was Group Finance Officer at Lichfield-based steel reinforcement firm ROM for eight  years.After graduating from Birmingham University Ian joined Bloomer Heaven, Chartered Accountants, in Birmingham, then moved to Lancaster & Co where he went on to become a partner.
Ian said: “I am delighted to join the Heart of England Co-operative Society. The Society is in the midst of implementing new systems at the moment so it is all a bit hectic but everyone has been very welcoming and helped me to settle in well.”
Ian lives in Sutton Coldfield with wife Helen. Before his career in accountancy he was a professional golfer and in his spare time he still enjoys the game.
